(Let us know in advance if you have a student applying so we can provide best assistance.)

5 Summary Subtitle Name Date What to Know – Application Process Train USA is CV’s cultural exchange program which provides the J-1 Visa sponsorship eligible participants need to enhance their skills and gain exposure to U.S. culture and business practices through career-focused internships and training programs. Prospective participants must secure an internship agreement with a U.S. host organization, and the university co-op coordinator should send Cultural Vistas the name of the student to Dolly Davidson, ddavidson@culturalvistas.org, prior to initiating a sponsorship application. Our dedicated team will ensure CAFCE applications receive priority service.ddavidson@culturalvistas.org Both the participant and the host organization submit applications for consideration:  The student should make an application request online at http://culturalvistas.org/programs- for-students-and-professionals/train-usa, making sure to enter the university name/CAFCE in the “how heard” section.http://culturalvistas.org/programs- for-students-and-professionals/train-usa  The host company will receive an application to complete and submit for review. If appropriate for sponsorship, Cultural Vistas will issue the necessary sponsorship documents. Upon receipt of sponsorship documents issued by Cultural Vistas, the student will schedule a consular interview. If the J-1 Visa is granted, the participant may enter the U.S. 30 days prior to internship start date. (Note: Canadian citizens are exempt from the consular interview and may gain entry at the U.S. border.)

6 Summary Subtitle Name Date What to Know – Fees and Payment CAFCE member administration fees: 0 - 3 month internship $750 3 - 12 month internship $800 (savings of $150) Optional expedited processing fee $1,000 (savings of $350) Other fees: Each application requires medical/accident insurance of $68 per month. Cultural Vistas also collects the $180 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee on behalf of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. New host companies (those that have not previously been approved by Cultural Vistas) are invoiced a $300 one-time fee to cover the cost of our evaluation and vetting process. Please note a student cannot pay this fee on behalf of his or her host company.
