They travel in large flocks consisting of 10 to 30 birds each. Their loud squeaks and calls echo through the rainforest.

5. Defense mechanisms The macaw’s main defense against potential predators is flight. Their feathers can detach from their bodies fairly easily, so if a predator does bite them it will get a mouthful of feathers giving the bird enough time to fly away. It can fend off any predators nearby using it’s sharp claws and enormous beak, but this will occur only if the bird cannot fly away.

7. Habitat It manly lives in the Yucatan peninsular and the Amazon rainforest.

However some researchers disagree claiming that they eat clay because it contains calcium that female macaws use to manufacture eggs.
