The Cherokee Indians grew corn, beans, squash, and sunflowers. They also gathered nuts, berries, and fruit. They made soups and stews using these foods.

The Chickasaw women grew corn, beans, and squash. They Chickasaw men hunted foods like deer and turkey. They also fished the rivers that they lived by.

The Cherokee Indians lived in villages near rivers. They built their homes from river cane frames and then put clay on the sides and grass roofs.

The type of Cherokee clothing they were breechcloths is a type of long rectangular peace tanned as deer skin, cloth, or animal fur.

The Chickasaw tribe wore the same type of clothing as the Cherokee. This picture shows their leggings. They made their clothing from deer skin.

The Chickasaw traded regularly with all of the other South East native Americans this is one of the materials they traded.
