1 Vision: To create a community of active and educated individuals dedicated to the pursuit of social justice. Mission: Branch Out will engage students in diverse quality alternative breaks so that they become active and educated members of society.

2 Branch Out International Alternative breaks that offer students the chance to work in partnership on various development projects with communities outside the United States. 3 Application Process Find the application on-line at – www.wm.edu/branchoutinternational – OR search “Branch Out International” on WM Search Bar E-mail ALL applications to BranchOutInternational@gmail.com no later than 5 pm on Sunday, September 16. Interviews between Sept 17-26 Teams announced Sept 28 th. The subject line MUST include, in this order: Name of trip(s) you’re applying for (First Choice, Second Choice), Last Name, First Name.

5 AIDS TANZANIA AIDSTanzania collaborates with local NGOs, community centers, government clinics, and schools to provide partner communities with HIV/AIDS education, testing, and outreach. AIDSTanzania promotes self-advocacy and community efficacy--establishing sustainable and adaptive models for HIV/AIDS programs in Tanzania and in areas surrounding The College of William and Mary. Trip Cost Before Fundraising: 1380 Initial deposit: 400$ We are a winter Break Trip so we will be recruiting in the spring for new members!

8 W&M Students for Belize Education Bermudian Landing & Caye Caulker, Belize Full Costs (before fundraising): ~$1,500/person Trip Dates:2 wks during Winter Break Applications go out in February! Deposit= $300 due early March Students for Belize extend service to schools in the Belize Rural School District by: assisting with construction projects, providing classroom assistance, promoting educational awareness in the community, and creating supplemental education programs. 14 Basic Necessities for All?: Challenging Environmental Injustice in North Carolina Think all communities in America are created equal? Think again. Learn about environmental justice and health disparities that exist among communities based on where their people live and work. Join Branch Out Regional this Fall Break for a trip to the industrial “Research Triangle” of North Carolina to learn about and work with communities that lack basic necessities such as safe, running water, proper sanitation and even clean air. We will hear of the stories of members of these communities, volunteer with partners that strive to change these systemic injustices, and learn more about how environmental injustice is not just an international development issue. You might just be surprised how close to home these afflicted communities are to where you live! Branch Out Regional Fall Break 2012
