3 Goals To change our school environment and to be more eco- friendly To gain knowledge of living in a more eco-friendly way To understand problems with ecology in our partners` schools To prepare and conduct the survey on bio-diversity To take part in eco-seminars To do Biology and Geography projects on ecology To take part in the eco fieldworks in Kraków and nearby To participate in Project meetings in: the Neatherlands (spring 2012), Sweden (autumn 2012), Findland (late autumn 2012) To host Comenius partners in Kolegium Europejskie in Kraków (spring 2013).

8 In cities trees and plants are really significant because they clean and absorb carbon dioxide from air. In Kraków there is huge amount of green areas like parks. Also, we have got one of the biggest green spots in Europe – Błonia. Blonia Jordan Park

9 Sorting garbage is one of the best ways to keep the city clean. In Krakow I find a lot of baskets made ​​for this purpose and they are clearly visible through the colors, many people segregate rubbish and do it more often that they used to. This helps removal services to municipal waste to landfill and to maintain cleanliness in the city.

10 Public transport is really important for Kraków`s ecology. Various means of transport are provided in our city like trams, buses and have got a special bike renting system. Because of that, we can reduce air contamination.

12 Students on ecology Every chart is based on questionnare 3rd junior high school students made in Kolegium Europejskie, Kraków. From every class we asked two people to answer questions about ecology in Kraków.

16 Problems of Kraków Pollution Wisla is a very polluted river. According to the statistics pollution is over the average in 56% of its lenght. In the year 2006 Wisla „poured” over 300 tons of metals to the Baltic sea. Wisla in city U Ustron.

17 Problems of Kraków Garbage in forests Huge amount of people leave their garbage and wasted electronic devices like TVs or radios. Garbage in Soltysocki forest.

23 2nd Comenius REACT Project Meeting The project meetings with students (second conference) Uden, The Netherlands 10 – 14 May 2012 Students will give a presentation of 10 minutes in English about the inquiry and about other activities on the project in their schools.
