The Wasserman Foundation  The Wasserman Foundation funds organizations in the fields of education, health care, and arts & culture.  They have donated $4 million to LAUSD through DonorsChoose.org to be used over the next 2 years.  $2 million in $15 gift cards  $2 million to match donations made online

3. What is DonorsChoose.org?  DonorsChoose.org is an online charity where public school teachers can post classroom project requests.  People can then browse the site and donate money to the project(s) of their choice.

4. How does it work?  Schools will receive $15 gift cards based on their enrollment.  Gifts cards will be given to parents at the school sites, not through mail.  Parents can go online, enter the code on their gift card, and donate their $15 to the project of their choice - at no cost to the school or parents!  www.donorschoosela.org www.donorschoosela.org  Gift cards expire on February 16, 2012.

5. How do I use my card?  Go to www.donorschoosela.orgwww.donorschoosela.org  Enter the code on your card  Search for the project you wish to help fund

6. What now?  Encourage other parents to use their cards!  If you see other parents – in the parent center, at meetings, in the neighborhood – talk about DonorsChoose with them!  Help other parents get online and show them how to make their donations!
