SELF-REPORTING CE BEGINS JUNE 1, 2014

Maintain your own CE records and documentation. Submit 45 CE hours (5 hrs in SAN) every 3 years - either online, fax or by mail. Provide CE documentation if audited All CDMs will be sent a CE Self-Reporting Guide Book. This information will also be available on our website by March, 2014.

Complete/attend the CE program. Record the CE program in your online CE reporting record. File your CE documentation in a folder that you keep for verification purposes.

CE must be related to the fields of Nutrition, Management, Healthcare, or Sanitation & Food Safety. No duplicate programs are allowed. Seminars, meetings, online courses, webinars, food shows, and inservices are all eligible for CE.

Chapters will need to produce and provide Certificates of Completion for all meetings for CDMs to document their CE. CBDM sign-up sheets will no longer be needed. Chapter meetings will still require Prior Approval to receive an approval number.

Go to the members area of the ANFP website. You will see a CE Records tab. Enter the date, title, and approval number (if available) and number of CE hours you have earned. Keep a file folder of your Certificate of Completion and documentation as specified in the CE-Self Reporting Guide Book.

CBDM random audits will take place every May 31 st at the end of 3-year CE cycles. You will be notified by May 1 st if you are being audited. If you are selected to be audited, you will need to turn in all documentation for the years of self-reporting during your 3-year CE cycle.

Q: How long should I keep CE documentation? A: A six year period is recommended. Q: If I purchase ANFP online CE products, will my CE automatically be entered into my online CE record once I complete the online course or CE magazine article? A: Yes.

Q: What if I don’t have a computer? A: You may still submit your CE documentation by fax or mail and ANFP will record your hours for you. Q: Will CBDM let me know how many CE hours I still need? A: Yes, you will be notified on your annual dues notice, just as you have been notified in the past.

Earn 15 CE hours each year which will equal 45 hours in 3 years. Use three file folders to organize each year’s proof of attendance/documentation. Enter your CE into your record within one week of attendance. View your CE record 24/7 online to make sure your CE record is up-to-date.
