NNew York is an endlessly diverse place. With all of the numerous museums and attractions, students can learn everything from history to biology to architecture. EEvery second of the weekend long trip will be educational, whether it be learning academic or life skills.

New York, New York… So nice, they named it twice

TThe ferry runs non – stop between Manhattan and Staten Island for commuters, but it also makes for a good, free location for sight-seeing! SStudents will be able to appreciate the city view, and see the Statue of Liberty up close.

TThe Brooklyn Botanical Garden is comprised of several gardens within a garden. TThe main attractions are the Cherry trees and Japanese Hill and Pond Garden. SStudents will be able to learn about the different species of flowers.

TThe Cloisters, located at the tip of Manhattan, is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. TThe collection at the museum is medieval art, primarily from between the 12 th and 15 th centuries. TThe museum and park were founded by John D. Rockefeller. RRockefeller also purchased the entire space of land across the river, adjacent to the park, to maintain the picturesque view.

CCentral Park, The Brooklyn Bridge, The Guggenheim, The Lower East Side Tenement Museum, Battery Park, and The Empire State Building are all amazing places that are “must sees” while in New York. AAll of these places are educational as well as historic, and the students would only benefit from visiting them.

WWith all of New York’s endless possibilities, this trip would be culturally fulfilling, informative and exciting for the students. I wish I came to New York when I was student!
