District Rotary Foundation Seminar Scholarships Since 1947, The Rotary Foundation has awarded more than US$532 million in educational grants.

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Scholarships Scholarships are now funded by – Global grants, using only District Designated Funds (DDF) matched from The Rotary Foundation (TRF) – District grants in similar manner to former District Simplified Grants (DSG) with a maximum DDF contribution of £1000

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships Graduate-level Alignment with the areas of focus Sustainable and measurable Host and international sponsors: Club to Club

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships Budget during study period Minimum $30,000 per year and can now be for longer than one year (1-4 years depending on funds available) Funding calculated from DDF and matched and covers: School supplies, books, workbooks, computer Tuition Room and board Household supplies Transportation Study-related travel

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Club identifies potential student as International Sponsor Student applies to local Rotary Club Club informs District 1220 and makes contact with the District where the University course is run by one of the following: 1 Sponsor Club to Host Club contact; 2 Sponsor Club to Host District; 3 District 1220 to host District Global Grant Scholarship (outgoing)

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships The application is accessible by both Sponsor and Host Clubs, District Foundation Chairs and District Governors On completion it will be authorised by all six and submitted to TRF TRF will confirm the Scholarship, subject to amendments. Clubs will control payments to scholar and arrange orientation and all other requirements.

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships Sponsor and Host Clubs appoint a committee of three Club members in each club to oversee the scholarship process and support the applicant through the process and the scholarship period. Host Club Committee must set up separate Foundation bank account to handle funds Details are found in the Global Grants Supplement

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships (incoming) Club or District may be contacted by, or be in contact with, an international partner Club should inform District Foundation Chair or Scholars coordinator Club accepts the potential scholar

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships Club (now the Host Club) sets up three person committee of Rotarian members Club sets up separate Foundation bank account to be administered to support the incoming student Club appoints a Host Counsellor who looks after the student during their stay and reports to the Club and the three person committee

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholars The Host Club will have the same responsibilities as to Ambassadorial Scholars previously; Arranges Club and District presentations and visits Liaises with university

District Rotary Foundation Seminar Global Grant Scholarships The Host Club handles all financial matters previously handled by TRF And agrees this with the sponsor Club And keeps all records of financial matters to be presented in the final report to TRF Arranges for the Student to make their reports by the agreed dates

District Rotary Foundation Seminar District Grant Scholarships More flexible – Secondary, university, graduate studies or certificate programmes – Local or international – Length – completed within one Rotary year – Area of study – D1220 rules require alignment with Areas of Focus – Cost – same budget conditions as projects under District Grant Managed by club and district – no TRF
