Global Grant Scholarship $30,000 One recipient December 1, 2015 deadline for Clubs to submit nominees to District Global Grant Scholarship Committee Chair DISTRICT 7620 SCHOLARSHIPS

Club must make a donation to the Annual Program Fund (APF) Club must make a donation to the Polio Plus Program The Club President along with the Immediate Past President or President-Elect or a Member of the Club must be MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) trained, read, sign, and submit the Club MOU to the DRFC (District Rotary Foundation Chair) and agree to follow its requirements. Note that the Club MOU is a binding agreement between the Club and the District.

GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP One scholarship for a minimum of $30,000 will be awarded for one to four years to pursue a graduate school program abroad and support Rotary goals in one of the six areas below: Basic Education and Literacy Disease Prevention and Treatment Economic and Community Development Maternal and Child Health Peace and Conflict Resolution Water and Sanitation

GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP 31 October: Students submit completed applications and supporting documents to a qualified Rotary Club in our District November: Clubs review applicants, interview students and select their nominee 1 December: Deadline for individual Clubs to submit a letter of sponsorship and completed application packet to PDG Andy Baum, cdmabaum@comcast.com, District Global Grant Scholarship Committee Chair.cdmabaum@comcast.com Incomplete application packets will not be considered for further review.

GLOBAL GRANT SCHOLARSHIP January: Applicants interviewed by District Global Grant Scholarship Committee, finalists and alternates are selected and notified 1 May: Scholar must be accepted by his/her graduate program and accept the scholarship to begin RI approval and funding. The confirmed Scholar will be proposed to the International Host Club and to Rotary International for evaluation and funding ninety days before travel is to begin.

Salmaa Elshanshory Studying at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland Will earn a Master's degree in International Affairs with a focus on Conflict Resolution Aspires to begin field work in the area of conflict resolution in the Middle East upon completion of this degree.

Daniel Smith Studying at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom Earned a Master's degree in Water, Sanitation and Health Engineering, in the School of Civil Engineering Planning to work on water, sanitation and hygiene development programs in Latin America and Africa

Leanne Polachek Recently completed studying at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Will receive a Masters in Public Health in Developing Countries Will continue working in international development specifically focusing on initiatives related to women’s health concerns, health systems and community health in low and middle income countries Leanne with her Rotary counselor

Sarah Dobson Studying at the University of Peace in Ciudad Colon, Costa Rica Will earn a Master's degree in Gender and Peacebuilding Planning to work in gender violence prevention and peacebuilding work
