At present the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum is located on the grounds of the camp. The site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979.

6. Wieliczka – Salt mine The historic Salt Mine in Wieliczka is the only mining site in the world functioning continuously since the Middle Ages.
