3 Brief review of technology at CSES 2012-13 One computer lab 6-8 computers in each village One class set of 20 netbooks for 2 nd grade (CEF) One class set of iPod Touches for 3 rd grade (CEF) 6 iPads for ELL program 2013-14 Every teacher has an iPad as a teaching/learning tool (CEF) First year of the 1:1 iPad program in 3 rd grade (CEF) Class set of iPads for 5 th grade to share (CEF) Teachers attended 1.5-3 hrs pro dev per month (iPads as classroom tool) 2 sets of keyboards for iPads (CEF)

4 Brief review of technology at CSES 2014-15 1:1 iPad program expanded into both 3 rd and 4 th grades (CEF) Moved iPod Touches to 2 nd grade 2 nd Graders to lab once a week for keyboarding skills Color laser printer in each village (CEF) Apple TV in grades 3-4 (CEF)

5 2015-16 District Funded ReThink Program: Two computer labs (B4 and B5) 8 computers in every village 4 full-size iPads in each of the primary (TK-2) classrooms New lampless Casio projectors in 22 classrooms (11 funded by CEF) New computers for all staff/faculty 40 additional iPad keyboards Compass Learning program now on iPad in addition to PCs

6 New presentation system in MPR (funded by district ) A new sound system (managed by iPad), computer input panel, larger rear-projection screen, and projector installed in the MPR.

7 2015-16 CEF Funded Technology Program: Expand 1:1 iPad program into grade 5, which means it is now in grades 3,4,& 5 CEF funds all the iPads in the 1:1 Program – all grade 3-5 students will have a iPad mini2 configured and managed by the school This is a change from voluntary “bring your own iPad” policy we used for the first two years of the program. New lampless Casio projectors in 22 classrooms (11 funded by CEF)

8 1.All iPads/computers used at school must log into the district’s filter system called Lightspeed. 2.A Global Proxy Server is installed on the iPads, which means that even at home the iPad goes through the district Lightspeed filter. 3.Teachers conduct lessons on digital literacy and safety. They also send home information to parents.

15 Student Learning It is not just about learning to use the iPad, but giving students a powerful tool to reach the highest levels of learning.

19 Practical Aspects Case must remain on the iPad – especially the cover as that protects the screen. Checked out to students through the library database, similar to textbooks. Security – locked cabinets in classrooms and ESS. Students charge at home each night using only the provided Apple lightening charger. Morning playground – students will place on a lunch table reserved for their classroom. School will install and manage all apps.
