3. Temporary Colours: Most wash in wash out products are in the form of shampoos and mousses and tone various colour's of hair. For example for grey hair there are silver/blue based ones, which will make the hair look whiter and less yellow. There are others that give the hair a slight champagne or beige look. There are also several sprays and other fun products for parties that will temporarily change your hair colour. These are temporary colour boosters or grey hair toners that enhance the colour you have and will not work to change your colour. A temporary colour usually lasts 1 wash, but when the hair is bleached the it will last longer, it all depends on how porous the hair is.

Semi-permanent colours: Semi-permanent Colours work in the same way as water colours, staining the outside of the hair, it can last 6 - 14 shampoos depending on what product is used to shampoo your hair. If you use a coloured shampoo it will last longer, as it adds a stain while shampooing. Another way to making the colour last longer, would be to use a coloured conditioner which works in the same way. Traditional semi-permanent colours don't have a developer to activate a chemical reaction, so they are not drying and are usually used to make the hair shine while adding colour.

7. Permanent Colours: Permanent colour stays on your hair permanently. When the coloured strands grow out, you'll see a line between them and the new root growth. The permanent colour lasts until it grows out. You can darken or brighten hair as much as you like.

9. Quasi Colours and Images: They last up to 24 shampoos and are not as strong as permanent colours. The colour is nearly permanent but will softly fade as you shampoo. You can recolour also.

10. Bleach and Images: If you do it right, bleaching can look great. But bleaching can be risky, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can seriously damage your hair or injure your skin. Bleach doesn’t wash out, its grows out and that’s how you get roots. Bleach is the strongest type of hair dye.

11. Alkaline Perms and Images: Alkaline: Produces permanent hair waves (tight hair curls) It has a PH from 7.5 to 9.5 Another word for alkaline perm is a cold wave. Lotions- for strong natural resistant hair. Lotion 1- for normal hair Lotion 2- normal hair, easy to wave, or coloured hair in good condition Lotion 3- for coloured hair and mildly coloured hair. They usually contain ammonium thiogly colate.

12. Acid Perms and Images: An acid perm is a type of hair permanent that uses acid. Acid is a liquid that is quite corrosive, and has a pH that is lower than pH 7. Acid perms are the opposite of alkaline perms. Acid perms have a pH that ranges from 6.5 to 8.0. Permanents create a permanent curl or wave in the hair. If a permanent takes well, the hair will stay curly or wavy until it grows out. An acid perm creates a softer curl than an alkaline perm. If you are considering a permanent treatment for your hair, it is a good idea to talk to your hair care professional about which type of permanent, alkaline or acid, would work best with your hair. Make sure you ask about what could go wrong, and what damage the permanent could possibly do to your hair. With that information, you can make an informed decision about getting an acid perm or an alkaline perm.
