The Art of Alter Reality Storytelling By: Dewayne Lee
2
Thesis Statement The three artists that are going to be discussed in this paper are Trenton Doyle Hancock, Jim Lee, and John Hicklenton. I chose to discuss these artists because they all use the method of Altered Reality storytelling in their works. Altered Reality is defined as a hypothetical self-contained separate reality coexisting with one’s own, and although all three of these artists use this form of storytelling, they each use it in a different way. Hancock uses this form as a personal storytelling method, Hicklenton uses it as a form of social criticism and Lee uses it to display his passion for drawing and art.
