Professional Development In the next two years, investigate and possibly implement a governance model, clearly defining the end objectives, so that the WASBO board can focus on strategic initiatives that are defined by the membership. Within three years, create and implement a payroll certification to assist WASBO members in the payroll process. A committee will be created to explore the various existing programs to assist in the development. 2013-14 Strategic Plan Update

Professional Development Governance Model 2014-15: Board studied policy governance Drafted new board policies 2015-16: Align policy governance with the WASBO Constitution Implement PR Certification 2014-15: Committee formed Research payroll certification models 2015-16: Develop Curriculum to meet needs of Wisconsin school districts

Networking By June 2014, discuss with the Mentorship Program coordinators to evaluate and/or update the Mentorship Program to ensure the program is meeting the original goals set in 2012. Due to the loss of WASBO’s software support, WASBO will research, compare, and implement the replacement of the Association Management Software. This goal will be completed by June 2014. 2013-14 Strategic Plan Update

Networking Mentorship Program 2014-15: Reviewed current program and goals Updated program materials. 2015-16: Align Mentorship Program with the Year of Success Management Software 2014-15: Staff researched the various options available to associations Implemented iMIS 2015-16: Review iMIS to ensure its meeting our needs

Advocacy By working with our lobbyist and other organizations, develop and provide professional development on how to effectively communicate, build relationships, and influence elected officials to advocate for our students. This goal will be completed by the end of 2016. 2013-14 Strategic Plan Update

Advocacy PD for Advocacy 2014-15: SAA Committee members helped define the SAA strategic plan and legislative goals – the Pathway to World-Class Student Success. Number of business officials providing direct input at hearings, or indirectly through their superintendents. 2015-16: Develop sessions on this issue for WASBO conferences.

NEXT STEPS Board of Directors Update the Strategic Plan (June Board meeting) Finalize and Implement Policy Governance (2015-16) Align to Constitution, working with Constitution Committee Member Resources & Technology Goal Action Team will survey Membership to identify future goals WASBO Strategic Plan Update
