Goal Part of your assessment this year is to complete a Science Research Project Assignment.

Scientific Method Good scientists frequently use a process to study what they see in the world. This process has been referred as the ‘Scientific Method’ or more recently as the ‘Inquiry Cycle’. The following stages listed below will help you produce a good scientific experiment:

1) A Testable Question 2) Background Research 3) Hypothesis 4) Procedure 5) Data Collection 6) Conclusion 7) Prepare your report and exhibit 8) Review and discuss the findings

By using Scientific Method you will be required to investigate an interesting topic in one of seven categories.

Due Dates 1 st Submission - 25th OCTOBER 2 nd Submission - 5th JANUARY 3 rd Submission - 3rd FEBRUARY 4 th Submission - 10th FEBRUARY 5 th Submission - 17th FEBRUARY Your Teacher should give you a handout for your Science Research Project Details which will highlight what is required at each submission date.

Choosing a topic Find a topic that interests you. We encourage you to visit Science Resources for science fair and research ideas.Science Resources Choose a topic that is your level or one that will extend you. Good projects usually involve something that effects your everyday life.
