13 Electoral Assent Bylaw to the RDOS Board– The Board is required to give first three readings to the bylaw(s) and determine method of public assent prior to seeking Inspector of Municipalities approval. Estimated timeline - Board meeting of Feb 5 or Feb 19, 2015. Bylaw at Third Reading to the Province– upon third reading, the bylaw(s) are submitted to the Inspector of Municipalities for approval to proceed with public assent process. Estimated timeline - Inspector approval may be 3-8 weeks. Assent Vote Process – upon approval of the Inspector, notification and statutory advertising period begins, scrutineer and advance mail in voting opportunity is provided. Estimated timeline – 4 to 8 weeks. Bylaw to the RDOS Board – the results of the Assent Vote is returned to the Board and the bylaw(s) are adopted or repealed based on the results of the Assent Vote. Estimated timeline – Board meeting immediately following assent process. Referendum process
