21 Competitive Information
Printer, Ink and Media

22 Profitability: Kodak offers the lowest price per ml for Dye Inks*
Dye-Based Ink Costs Per ML Warranty Price Per ML Real Price Per ML Chart shows dye based ink cost per ml in both warranty cost per ml and real cost per ml To the left of the black line is Warranty cost per ml which includes the printhead cost over the warranted throughput To the right is Real cost per ml which includes the printhead cost over the actual expected (avg.) printhead life Kodak has lowest ink cost per ml (including printhead) for both warranted throughput and real throughput. One note here is that Kodak’s warranted price per ml is $.34 which is even lower than HP’s real cost per ml using the multi-packs. From this chart you’ll see the large cost savings advantages you will get with the Kodak 1200i over the competitors. Note: Ink prices stated in MSRP. For thermal printers, warranty ink price per ml includes the cost of the print head & ink over the warranted throughput. For thermal printers, the actual print head life is longer than the warranted throughput meaning true ink prices are lower overall. Real ink prices per ml for Kodak are calculated using one print head per 2 bottles of ink, for HP it’s calculated using one print head to run through 3 ink tanks, and for ColorSpan - two ink tanks per head.
