Classification Helicobacter Pylori is considered a bacterium because:
It lacks a nucleus It’s DNA is found in a single strand Does not have any organelles besides ribosomes

Characteristics Rod shaped Has a flagellum
appear to grow best in the presence of a small amount of free oxygen (microaerophiles)

Mode of Transmission The infection occurs when a person swallows bacteria in/on: fluid containmated utensils food Also, items that may contain fecal matter

Infection Helicobacter pylori causes an infection in the stomach.
Symptoms: Bloating, nausea, vomitting, can cause pain ulcers or stomach cancer Causes ulcers by weakening the mucus layer in the stomach and injures the underlying stomach cells

Treatment It takes about 10-14 days to return to health
Most of the treatment include called a proton pump inhibitor. It decreases the stomach's production of acid, which allows the tissues damaged by the infection to heal.
