7 Results: Communication & Organization Email Communication & Website The information I received via mail or through the website was clear/concise: 81% Agreed or Strongly Agreed 80% in 2012 86% in 2011 Check-in Process The check in process on the day of Orientation went smoothly and the staff was helpful: 91% Agreed or Strongly Agreed 95% in 2012 94% in 2011

8 Results: Communication & Organization (qual.) Comments: “I thought everything was extremely well organized and informative. My only suggestion would be to maybe have broken up the lunches into 2 or 3 separate times so that we weren't all packed into a small space” “The Welcome speech (the very first event of the first day of orientation) was not very motivating and did not excite me for the upcoming orientation exciting adult speakers. I think there should have been more student speakers or more.” “I really liked how we were grouped with people who lived in the same residence hall, it made me more confident that I will see familiar faces. I also really liked the campus safety presentation.” “I greatly enjoyed the tour around campus to important Loyola landmarks and hearing the OL's stories regarding the site. I also liked time alone with my group where we did ice breakers and such to get to know each other better”

11 Results : Academics Comments: “Allow more time for class registration. There was not enough time considering the circumstances. Pressured and rushed is not an environment feel you want to register for class in, especially if you can't change your decisions” “The most beneficial part was meeting with our academic advisors because that got rid of some of my worries regarding classes for the upcoming semester.

13 Results : Mission & Value At the Loyola University Values Session (LUV), I learned about the specific values at Loyola University Chicago and how those values relate back to student success 88% Agreed or Strongly agreed 96% in 2012 Through the Unity Gathering, I felt inspired to explore my faith at Loyola 63% Agreed or Strongly agreed The Traditions Tour helped me learn about the unique qualities and services offered both on and off campus at Loyola University Chicago. 77% Agreed or Strongly agreed

14 Results : Mission & Value Comments: “The traditions tour I thought was great, because we got teamed up with another group and benefited from more new faces as we learned about Loyola.” “The LUV session was most beneficial. I was actually disappointed that the time given to discuss each topic was so short! I truly felt inspired and touched with what my OL and group had to share. After the session I knew Loyola was the school for me.” “Loyola University Values Session helped me think about my values and what I can contribute to Loyola. I can honestly say that after this session I realized just how happy I was that I picked a Jesuit school.”

17 Results : Orientation Leaders Comments: “I think all parts of the orientation were really helpful especially the resource fair! I really enjoyed being with my orientation leader as he made me feel more confident in the school I'll be attending.” “I greatly enjoyed the tour around campus to important Loyola landmarks and hearing the OL's stories regarding the site. I also liked time alone with my group where we did ice breakers and such to get to know each other better” “spending time with my Orientation Leader and my group. I felt like I got more adjusted to "college life" and got "real" answers to my questions about college, not sugar coated ones. I think the most beneficial session was the resource fair.”

20 Results : Campus Partners At the technology session, I learned about the various resources that the Information Technology Services (ITS) offers including ResNet, LOCUS, and Sakai 70% Agreed or Strongly Agreed The presentation given by Campus Safety and the Office of Conduct and Conflict Resolution provided useful information for me as I begin my academic career at LUC 72% Strongly Agreed I understand how to navigate LOCUS 89% Agreed or Strongly Agreed 94% in 2012 91% in 2011

21 Results : Campus Partners Comments for Campus Safety: “Meeting some of my future classmates and feeling more at home at Loyola. The campus safety seminar was the most beneficial because I was nervous about living in Chicago, but now my mind is at ease.” “Campus Safety. As I am coming to Loyola from out of state, I felt more at ease about coming to Chicago after hearing about what Campus Safety has to offer (hot spots tour).” “The campus safety session was put together in a way that was both funny yet informative. That made likely to pay attention to everything the speaker was saying and it was beneficial to know all the different types of safety features the campus includes.”

22 Results : Campus Partners Comments for Dining: “Meals were fantastic cannot wait to start eating at the dining halls” “I medically have to be on a gluten-free AND vegan diet. There were gluten free options and vegetarian options, but not gluten free and vegan. I had to bring my own food which was a problem.” “The food was delicious! I really appreciated the fact that there was always a vegetarian option. the orientation leaders were very informative, entertaining and kind.” “I really enjoyed the meals. They were healthy and they tasted great! The best part was the open buffet lunch on the second day of the orientation.”

23 Results : Campus Partners Comments: “I really enjoyed the money presentation because I had a lot of questions and got all the answers I needed. I left very confident in what I needed to complete” “The campus safety presentation and residence life presentation were helpful because they affect me extremely more than any of the other presentations.” “I think the part that was most beneficial was when we were able to go to the technology session and just navigate more around Locus, people got "ahead of the game" and looked for their classes as well as helped others navigate.”
