What Is Ultimate Frisbee Ultimate Frisbee is a 7 v 7 limited contact team sport. Played on a field slightly smaller then a football field. The object of the sport is to score points; you earn points by passing the Frisbee to a player who is in the opposing team’s end zone. In Ultimate Frisbee while possessing the disc you can’t move and must stay where you are. This introduces the challenge of Ultimate which is advancing up the field by only passing. Ultimate Frisbee is a combination of soccer, basketball and football which requires speed, stamina and agility. Though Ultimate Frisbee is a face paced exciting game it is very simple and very easy to learn.

Basic Rules A team gains a point when a player throws the Frisbee to a teammate that's in the end zone. The player catching the Frisbee must have 1 foot in play and full control of the Frisbee before being award a point. The Frisbee can advance in any direction by completing a pass to your teammate. A Player cannot advance with the Frisbee when they have possession. When having possession the player has 10 seconds to throw the Frisbee. The person defending him counts out loud from 10. When a player attempts a pass the defensive can knock it down or intercept it if they wish. If the Frisbee touches the ground or goes out of bounds before the offensive teams gains possession the other teams immediately can pick up the Frisbee and head toward the end zone. There is no stoppage of play, constant movement.

Rules Continued The game begins when both teams line up on each side of the field in front of there end zones. The defensive team then throws the Frisbee over to the other team and the game begins. The so called “Throw Off” occurs after each goal. The team that scores stays in the end zone they just scored in while the team that just let up the score has to walk to the other side. Games are not timed but played up to a certain amount of points. Teams break for halftime when one team reaches the half way mark of the determined final point mark. Example: Final score is 20, when one teams reaches 10 then it becomes halftime. No physical contact is allowed between players. Picks and screens are not allowed. When a foul occurs the team that was called for the foul gives the Frisbee back to the other team where the foul occurred. Substitutions occur after a goal
