Class Rules for Ms. Broughton’s Class These are the rules we will follow this year to learn and have fun.
2
CLASSROOM Respect Treat others nicely and use kind words. Understanding Get permission to talk & use the right conversation level. Listening Eyes on speaker, ears open, mouths closed. Education Come to school on time and ready to participate every day. Safety Follow directions. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
3
How will we track our behavior choices? We will use STOP/GO cards, a classroom behavior tracker poster with magnets, and a take-home behavior chart to track and record your choices. Everyone starts the day … These cards will help us keep track of your choices and will be traded in for rewards or consequences. Here’s how the system will work… During the day, you can earn GO cards for making good behavior choices or STOP cards for making poor choices.
4
Good Choices = Reward Points For every two GO cards you earn, you can move up one level on our behavior tracker. At the end of the day, students at these levels will earn reward points. The take-home behavior chart will help us keep track of how many reward points you have earned and let your families know how you are behaving in school. Earns +1 Reward PointEarns +2 Reward PointsEarns +3 Reward Points Students can use rewards points to buy special privileges or prizes from the classroom treasure box. Students must earn at least 5 rewards points before they can be traded in.
5
Poor Choices = Consequences For every two STOP cards you earn, you will move down one level on our behavior tracker. When students move to these levels they will receive one or more consequences. The take-home behavior chart will help us keep track of negative behavior indicators you have earned and let your families know how you are behaving in school. Verbal warning & behavior indicator In class consequence & behavior indicator Parent call/Referral & behavior indicator Learning from our mistakes is important. Students can always work to earn GO cards that will help them move back up to higher levels on the behavior tracker before the end of the day.
6
The Home – School Connection The take-home behavior tracker will let your families know how you are doing every day. They will be able to see if you are struggling with certain behaviors and what your behavior was like overall each day. End of day levels will be shown on the chart this way. You will be expected to share your take-home behavior tracker with your family every day and make sure that an adult signs it daily! +3+2+10-2-3

Being a Role Model Rules! Earning reward points also gives you a chance to be our Marvelous Manatee of the Week/Month! In our classroom, everyone is responsible for their own behavior, so work hard to make positive choices. Your choices will effect you, but they may also help or hurt others. When you make good choices every day, you are a role model for others. This can help struggling classmates learn from their mistakes and see the rewards for hard work and good behavior.

Why are RULES important? RULES help us to… Respect ourselves Respect others Learn and Grow If we all follow the RULES every day, our classroom will be a safe and fun place to learn!
9
I Promise To… Follow all our class and school rules. Be kind and friendly to everyone. Learn and have fun! ____________________________ Student Signature
