In the speech, “I have a Dream,” King uses rhetorical devices to portray to his audience that all men, women, and children should have equal rights and freedom. King emphasized his goals throughout the speech to encourage not only people color, but whites as well to work to bring an end to racism in America. King’s usage of passionate diction reveals his longing and urge for America to become one big brotherhood where people of all races can have the same rights.
