3 Traditional Self Publishing You write it, edit it, design it, and market it yourself You contact someone to print it Have 1,000 copies sitting in your garage

4 Modern Self Publishing You still write the story You can still edit it, but there are online services that can do that for you You can pay $ to have the cover designed or you can use simple cover creators Print-On-Demand (POD) means that books are only printed when someone orders them You can conceivably publish a full-fledged book and pay $0
