The mission of the CFC is to support and to promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all Federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

CFC of Greater Southern California 0 Covers Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and parts of Kern County 0 90, 000 Federal employees were solicited in 2014. 0 15.0% pledged over $3.8 million toward a wide variety of essential community services in local, national, and international charities in 2014.

0 With the CFC, charities receive one check each month that represents the combined gift of many donors, instead of multiple, individual checks. 0 Allows employees to give larger gift over time by making small monthly payments 0 Average contribution to a charity is $35.00, the annual CFC contribution is $285.00. 0 Meet with last year’s Campaign Coordinator to review the results. 0 Set a goal for your office and create a plan as needed. 100% solicitation is recommended. Step #1: Review Last Year’s Results and Set Goals

* 0 Recruit one key worker for every 20-30 employees 0 Outline responsibilities emphasizing the benefits of payroll deduction 0 Ask key workers to make a pledge at the training meeting. Allow them to take ownership of the success of the campaign 0 Take key workers on tours of benefiting charities Step #2: Recruit and Train Key Workers

Step #3: Be an Effective Keyworker 0 Reach out to EVERYONE! 0 Talk about the CFC in person—explain how easy it is to give. 0 Understand online and paper pledge options—encourage payroll deduction 0 Make giving personal—discuss how important it is for us to support our community and give through the CFC 0 Maintain campaign integrity 0 Keep the campaign visible 0 Give thanks * if the donor says “no”, simply thank them and remind them that you are available to assist should they change their mind.

Be creative! 0 To arrange for a speaker, agency fair or organization tour, contact your CFC Representative. * Step #4: Raise Awareness about the Campaign with Speakers, Films, and Tours
