2 Nature of Work *Manage the school library and media center. *Order and process new materials *Oversee the library budget *Supervising student helpers and library clerical staff *Meet with high school teachers and plan corresponding units in which students will be studying. *Maintain book collections and instruct students how to do so

3 Education and Training * undergraduate degree in any accredited 4 year university or college *Master’s degree program is recommended, but not mandatory, though it will make you appear more attractive to future employers My own personal path is to duel major in K-12 Education and Library Science

4 Other Qualifications *Extensive knowledge regarding various book genre *Motive students and encourage a passion for reading. *Warm personality necessary to create a welcoming library environment. *Effective communication skills *Knowledgeable about computers \

5 Job Outlook/Future Prospect *Employment is expected to rise 10% from 2010 to 2012. * With the major budget cuts taking place in schools across the country, libraries are facing the harshest blows.

10 Education and Training Each position in the Secret Service requires a different entry level set of requirements regarding education Having a basic college degree couldn’t hurt Training required varies depending on position or specific field Most intensive training takes place in Glynco, Georgia at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. This is followed by specialized training at the Secret Service Training Camp outside D.C

11 Other Qualifications A strong sense of integrity Must be a U.S citizen Must pass a complete background check Must be drug free and pass a physical and psychological evaluation Must pass a polygraph test All applicants must be between the ages of 21-37 years old.
