The basis of Alexa service. Users can see website information as they surf. Information is given back to the community as traffic Rankings and Related Links.

It can be considered spyware because tracks user activity on the web. But: User chooses to download it. Can be turned off and easily uninstalled. No personal information.

The company profits from advertising in the website. Over 9,2 million unique visitors per month. Around 25% of the website has ads. Little advertising in the toolbar.
