2. Biography of Shakespeare. On April 23, 1564 a son, William, was born to John and Mary Shakespeare in Stratford-upon- Avon. His mother was daughter of a farmer, his father was a glover-maker. William went to grammar school in Stratford and had quite a good education. There he loved reading. While still a teenager, Will married Anne Hathaway, a farmer’s daughter some years older than himself. During these years his three children were born: Susannah, then twins- a son Hamnet, and another girl Judith.

3. His career. In 1587 Shakespeare went to work in London, leaving Anne and the children at home. In London he began to act and to write plays and soon became an important member of a well-know acting company. In 1613 he stopped writing and went to live in Stratford where he died in 1616.

4. Some places where he was. This is the schoolroom where Shakespeare was educated, as many people believe. It is still in use.

5. Anne Hathaway’s cottage, a mile from Stratford, where she was born in 1556, and lived until she married William Shakespeare in 1582.

6. Globe Theatre. Globe theatre built on the bank of the river Thames. There most of his plays were performed. They are: 1.The comedy of Errors-1593. 2.Romeo and Juliet-1595. 3.The Merchant of Venice-1597. 4.Julius Caesar-1599. 5.As you like it-1600. 6.Twelfth Night-1600. 7.Hamlet-1601. 8.Othello-1604. Etc…
