Unfortunately their urge to merge scares off potential mates instead of attracting them. Take some advice from Confucius: ‘desperation produces perspiration and perspiration stinks on anybody.

PROFILE: Young single male utterly discontent and unfulfilled, no life, waiting for life to begin… Looking for young single woman, content and full of life.
50
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation. – Phil 4:11 I wish that all men were as I am. – 1 Cor 7:7 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. – 1 Cor 7:8

Dietrich Bonhoeffer
52
Innumerable times a whole Christian community has broken down and fallen apart because it has sprung from a ‘wish dream.
53
‘Every human wish dream that is injected into the Christian community is a hindrance to genuine community and must be banished if genuine community is to survive.
54
He who loves his dream of a community itself becomes a destroyer of the Christian community, even though his personal intentions may be ever so honest and earnest and sacrificial.
55
The man who fashions a visionary ideal of community demands that it be realized by God, by others and by himself.
56
He acts as if he is the creator of the Christian community, as if his dream binds men together. When things do not go his way he calls the effort a failure, when his ideal picture is destroyed, he sees the community as falling apart.
57
So he becomes, first an accuser of his brethren, then an accuser of God, and finally the despairing accuser of himself.
58
‘He who loves his dream of a marriage itself becomes a destroyer of the Christian marriage, ….. The man who fashions a visionary ideal of marriage demands that it be realized by God, by his spouse and by himself….
59
He acts as if he is the creator of the Christian marriage, as if his dream binds his marriage together. When things do not go his way he calls the marriage a failure, when his ideal picture is destroyed, he sees the marriage as falling apart.
60
So he becomes, first an accuser of his wife, then an accuser of God, and finally the despairing accuser of himself.’
61
…clothe yourselves with… patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:12,13
62
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
