Interesting Facts The Arab-Israeli conflict is not about the occupation - it's about the existence of Israel Palestinian leadership actively supported the Nazis during WWII Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray facing Mecca (often with their backs toward Jerusalem). Pan-Arabism or the doctrine of Muslim Caliphate declares that all land that used to belong to Muslims must be returned to them. Thus, Spain, for example, must eventually be re-conquered.

Pro Con Two State “I think the solution is two states because if both ethnicities are forced into one nation, the driving force of nationalism will inevitably lead to violence and war between the two groups within the country, thus the need for two states so each ethnic group can live independently” ~ Peter Leo One State “One State. A one state solution would force the two nationalities to eventually get along and recognize each other as equals. They would form a democratic society and have equality. ~ Nick Mignano

Pro Con Two State “As nice as it sounds to be “united”, the two groups of people living together don’t get along.” ~ Holly Jones One State "The Palestine Papers have given ultimate confirmation that Israel is not interested in an equitable two-state solution with the Palestinians. The secret documents reveal beyond a shadow of a doubt that even the most generous offers of land and security by the Palestinians in a two-state paradigm were rejected by Israel. During these negotiations, and in fact during the last twenty years of serious discussion of a two-state solution, Israel has doubled and redoubled efforts to create facts on the ground in the West Bank and Gaza which render a two-state solution impossible to implement. ~ Joseph Dana, MA, independent freelance journalist, said in his Feb. 13, 2011 interview "Is It Time to Move On to the One-State Solution?” on 972mag.com:

Pro Con Two State "I am afraid that the recent debate that seeks salvation for the Palestinians through a bi- national, one-state solution is based on totally far-fetched and unrealistic premises. Israeli and Palestinian nationalism are both as proud and as exclusive as any nationaism can be. Neither will reliquish its dream of separate statehood.” ~ Shlomo Ben-Ami, PhD, former Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs One State "A single state is one which is democratic and secular. Not Jewish. Not Islamic. It will stand for justice and equality of all races and religions. It will accept and tolerate each religious community and accord each of them their right to practice and propagate their religion.” ~ Rifat Odeh Kassis, President of the International Executive Council of Defence for Children

Religious Leader Thoughts “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as far as the great river the Euphrates.” (Genesis 15:18-21) ~Abraham Judaism "The time has come to put an end to this situation which has become increasingly unacceptable.” ~ Pope Francis Christianity Buddhism “All major religious traditions — Islam, Christianity, Hindu, of course, Jainism and Buddhism – all major religious traditions — teach us the practice of compassion, love, forgiveness, tolerance. So then a person who believes in certain faith, why do you involve in such violence?,” ~ Dalai Lama
