Shanghai Shanghai is the largest city by population in the People's Republic of China Total population of over 23 million as of 2010 Shanghai has more commercial goods than anywhere else in the country. It also has one of the top shopping centers in the whole of Asia. Shanghai has the largest bus system in the world. 7 hours ahead Average Temperature: 9C Average High Temperature: 13C Average Low Temperature: 5C Currency: Chinese Yuan Tap water throughout China is not safe for drinking (or for brushing teeth). The world-famous Shanghai TV Tower The TV Tower in Shanghai is featured in many popular films including ‘Fanstastic Four: Rise of the Silver Sufer,’ ‘Mission Impossible 3’ and ‘Godzilla: Final Wars.’ The tower is commonly referred to as the Oriental Pearl Tower, it is considered as a Shanghai symbol. Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets.

Yu Garden: Garden of Happiness or Garden of Peace Is a Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai, China. The City God Temple is a temple located within the old walled city. The Old City is the most ancient area of Shanghai. It is circular in shape even today, and used to be surrounded by a defensive wall.

Shanghai Expo 2010 It was a major World Expo in the tradition of international fairs and expositions. The theme of the exposition was "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city". It had the largest number of countries participating and was the most expensive Expo in the history of the world's fairs. By the end of the expo, over 73 million people had visited – a record attendance – and 250 countries and international organizations had participated. On 16 October 2010, the expo set a single-day record of having over 1.03 million visitors enter the exhibition that day.
