2 To serve equally our members, our profession and the public by defending liberty and delivering justice as the national representative of the legal profession.

3  To represent law students’ viewpoints to the ABA and to represent the ABA and all of its benefits to law students;  To help shape the policies and priorities that affect legal education; and  To create a forum for the exchange and expression of law student views and a voice to advocate those views.

6  The Assembly is the policymaking body of the Division.  The Assembly convenes only once a year at the Division's portion of the ABA Annual Meeting.  Assembly membership is comprised of two official voting delegates from each ABA-approved law school: ◦ ABA Representative ◦ Student Bar Association President  During the Assembly, delegates debate and vote on resolutions and issues of concern to law students, legal education, and the legal profession.

8 represents by voting  Along with the SBA President, represents their law school to the ABA Law Student Division by voting in the Assembly on resolutions of concern to law students and legal education.  Elects  Elects the Circuit Governors at their Spring Circuit Meetings and the Division’s 3 Delegates to the ABA House of Delegates at the Annual Meeting.  Serves  Serves as voice of law students/schools in the Division and the ABA. ◦ Brings ◦ Brings law student concerns and issues to the forefront on a local, regional, and national level;  Helps  Helps law students enhance their law school experience by communicating and disseminating information regarding the hundreds of law student opportunities and resources offered by the ABA. receives  Per the U.S. Department of Education, receives critical legal education communications from the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, regarding accreditation matters, for circulation to their student bodies.  Assists  Assists development and promotion of ABA benefits, programs, and offerings.

22  The success of the 2013-2014 ABA Law Student membership year depends on you!  Earn a $25 gift card for every 10 members who join the ABA August 1, 2013 through November 30, 2013.  Earn an iPad Mini if you recruit 75 or more new student members between August 1, 2013 and November 30, 2013. www.ambar.org/abareps

23  Individual Student Savings ◦ 3 years of membership for $60 (20% savings). Must pay full $60 upon enrollment to receive savings. May enroll via 800# or online only. Cannot enroll via sign-up sheets.  Law School Group Enrollment Program ◦ Law school pays law student dues at special group rate.  $20 per student for schools that enroll an entire class (1Ls, 2Ls, 3Ls) or combination of two classes.  $17 per student for schools that enroll their entire student body.
