Sensor Systems for the Monitoring of Personal Health and Lifestyle Management

Project Goals Survey of commercial sensors and sensor systems. Sensor system on Windows Mobile OS. Design Implement Demonstrate

Overview

Asthma – One of The Most Common Lung Diseases 150,000,000 Asthma patients around the world!!! 10% of them needs to use peak flow meter to help treatment

Traditional Peak Flow Meter – Very Limited Functions Usually just the measurement values and the streetlight system. Streetlight system. Green – Good Yellow – Caution! Red – Emergency

SMPL System

Our System Requirements. Wear-ability. Non-obtrusiveness. Ease of use (preferably). Wireless communication. Power consumption / lifetime. Applicable for monitoring on a mobile phone.

PeakSoft Goals User friendly. Overview of personal health. Advantage in the commercial market Utilizes the mobile phone. Aimed for personal use.

Digital Peak Flow Meter Integrate existing peak flow meter. AM1+ BT. Uses the phone to send results. Did not suit our needs. We decided to make our own. Compare price (vs AM1+ BT). Customize to our needs.
