10
Menswear- The suit Conservative suit - narrow shoulders, tight- fitted jackets. Vests - worn with daytime business suits as well as formal tuxedos. Headwear : fedora, trilby, or boater.
11
Other Men’s Clothing Tweed and flannel Sweaters, vests, and ties with bold colors or intricate patterns Wing Tip shoes - especially in two-tone colors.
12
Raid your Closet to Dress the Part.
13
Girls- Anything with pearls, feathers, or sequins. Wear a plain black dress and add your own twist with accessories. Accessories are the key to becoming a successful flapper! Big, fake, costume jewelry is approved. If you do not have short hair, try to pin it up. You do not have to cake on the makeup. Instead, try a darker lip gloss to add some drama. Try some tights or leggings underneath your dress so it isn’t so revealing. If you want to go all out, that is your choice, but have fun!
14
Boys- This may be a little more difficult. Try raiding Dad or Grandpa’s closet for a spiffy suit. Men in the 20s usually dressed very formal. If you cannot obtain a suit, go with a dress shirt and a colorful tie. With Mom’s permission, take a flower and pin it to your chest. If you can find a fedora these were very popular. Some alternatives to the suit are flannels, anything tweed, and sweaters. Remember they loved patterns!
