Background Information In 1991, the US teen birth rate reached its peak high at 61.8 for every 1000 adolescent females. In 2013, the USA 26.5 for every 1000 adolescent females ages 15-19 has a child, One in six 17% births to 15-19 years olds had more than one baby. US teen birth rate is still higher than other developed countries such as Canada and United Kingdom. 89% occurs outside marriage. Housing Hope The housing agency are embarking upon the problems of vulnerable teen moms such as: ◦ Poverty, due to lack of education ◦ Abuse ◦ Exposing their children to unhealthy situations ◦ Challenges to become self-sufficient Many of these young women has also become disconnected from family and community systems. Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services TOPS program is design for teen MOMS & DADS and utilizes the evidence-based program Nurturing Parents. The program prepare teen’s for expiations' during a child’s first years of life. Closing Different programs offers a variety of support and assistance to prevent the barriers that teens are faced with. There are many other teen support groups all over the world. By reducing teen pregnancy, teens have a better chance in reaching goals and accomplishing their dreams to establish successful life.
