Objectives We will learn that Autumn is another word for Fall. We will become aware of what leaves do during the fall by singing a song and saying poems. We will take a walk to collect different sizes, shapes, and colors of fallen leaves. We will dictate sentences to our teacher describing our leaves. We will draw pictures of our leaves and write words to tell about our pictures.
5
It is Fall (Tune of Skip To My Lou) Leaves are changing up in a tree Up in a tree it’s fall Leaves are falling from that tree Up in a tree it’s fall
6
Once a Little Leaf Once a little leaf Caught up in the breeze Blew up past the bushes Blew up past the trees Blew up in the cold sky High above the ground What happened when the wind stopped? Then the leaf came down.
7
Five Autumn Leaves Five pretty autumn leaves One yellow, one red, one green, two brown. A little breeze came by and blew the yellow one down. Four colored leaves are left up in the tree. A red leaf floated down, now there are three. As the wind whistles through the green leaf twisted loose And now there are two. Two little leaves, both of them are brown. One broke off and fluttered to the ground. Now we see there’s only one. The last one fell and now our story’s done.
8
Autumn Leaves I wonder in September, And in October, too, What oaks and elms and maples And quaking aspens do To make their leaves Turn red and gold Instead of pink and blue?
9
Leaves In Action The leaves are high. The leaves are low. The leaves are blowing soft and slow. The leaves are up. The leaves are down. The leaves are blowing all around. The leaves are here. The leaves are there. The leaves are blowing everywhere.
