With so many different web tools and apps for teachers out there, which should you choose?
If you don’t have a lot of time to learn to learn new programs, here are my recommendations:

Youtube We all use Youtube, but here is how it can rock the classroom:
Students are more engaged through visually-stimulating videos Students can upload their own videos to demonstrate understanding Students can create video replies to each other Videos can supplement lessons for students Teachers can spend more time focusing on students Teachers will have a library of free information

Anticipatory Set / “HOOK”
What is Anticipatory Set? - At the beginning of class, use YOUTUBE to grab students’ attention and prepare them for what they’re about to learn. Keep it brief and engaging. TRANSITIONS & OTHER USES
Use music videos on Youtube or Pandora to help students transition from one activity to another. Use the “Baby Come Back” video to call students back to their seats after a group activity, gallery walk, or quick break. Classroom Karaoke, anyone? Memes Memes are funny photos with clever sayings super-
imposed. They are very popular among kids, especially visual learners. They make your messages more memorable and interesting. You can copy memes you find online or create your own. Use them for classroom rules and warm ups. BASIC PROCEDURES: WARM UPS:

How to Create a Meme on Google Slides
You have 8 minutes left until the bell. It’s Easy Copy and paste a silly picture you found online. Add text. Use the IMPACT font. Use the Snip It Tool if you want to save it on your desktop computer. Wrap it up!

Poll Everywhere is an application that allows students to take polls you’ve created online. It’s a great tool for discussion, sharing, collaborating, and getting quick feedback. Use Poll Everywhere before you start your lesson to check for prior knowledge … or after your lesson to check for understanding.

QR Codes With a QR code scanner on their smartphones, students can scan a QR code created by a teacher in order to launch themselves to a certain website or online document. This will save them time from having to type in a long URL.

Schoology Schoology is an online learning, classroom management, and social networking platform that improves learning through better communication, collaboration, and increased access to curriculum and supplemental content. I use Schoology to share with students my syllabus, lesson plans, make up work, tests, etc. (SPEECH FOLDERS) (ASSIGNMENTS) (RATE RESULTS)

Technology makes life easier
It’s so much easier for me to update my information. It saves paper and time. My students have access to their work anywhere they have access to the internet. If I assign them partner or group work, they can all edit the same project at one time.
