Map And Location Fossil butte national park is located in Kemmerer Wyoming. Warm days in fossil butte are usually around 70-90 degrees F. cold evenings are usually 30-50 degrees F.

When did it become a park and why? It became a park in 1972 it became a park to protect the green trees and animals in the woods by reserving land for them.

How was it formed For over 50 million years fossils were building up with layers of limestone, mudstone and volcanic ash witch made the mountains of fossil butte.
