ADP DEFINED ADP is the main vehicle for holistic development It is a geographical area with integrated child focused TD that is community-led Maximum coverage area is up to 50,000 people

ADP DEFINED Continued Follows Government administrative & Political boundaries Covers an Inkhundla or part of it so that there is only one Member of Parliament and is easy for administration purpose

ALIGNMENT WITH DECENTRALIZATION POLICY MAIN GOAL To provide an enabling environment for promoting and enhancing sustainable development within a decentralized governance framework It promote demand-driven community and national development programmes and projects that contribute to the ultimate object of enhancing poverty reduction

ADP CHARACTERISTICS Settlement pattern : sparsely populated rural communities ADP life time: 15 years or more Programme multi - year plan funding source: Sponsorship, grants & local income

HUMAN RESOURCE All project staff employed by the ADPs are resident in the ADP communities ADP core staff live within the community Minimum qualification for development officers is a degree in a relevant field There is one Programme Officer for each of the projects being implemented in the ADPs
