14 School Placements How can students find out about school placements?  on-line database opened in January (updated weekly)  students will be given a login and password during registration time in early January  link to database on school website  noticeboard in corridor near KS4 Office

15 How can students make their choice?  advice from tutors/teachers/family  choose between 3 and 6 placements (enter on- line) – placements are not considered in rank order  check hours, transport and clothing requirements carefully before choosing  completed by 4 th February  no contact with business until placements are confirmed School Placements

16 How are placements allocated?  Priority is given to students who have an additional educational need  Other available placements are allocated by the school, according to what has been requested.  We cannot guarantee students will get one of their choices, but we will try to match them with a similar alternative. School Placements

17 What happens once placements are allocated?  contact employer  letter of introduction and CV  blue 3 Way Agreement Form  interview/ shop “trial” School Placements

18 Student’s Own Placements (SOPs)  check the placement is not already on database  contact potential employers  students, parents and employers complete the pink SOP form  health and safety check (in the case of out of area placements, the cost for this will be passed onto parents)  confirmation
