Project Introduction Goal: To Create a Complicated Machine that can stamp a piece of paper Requirements: Demonstrate Conservation of Momentum, Conservation of Energy, and Projectile Motion Budget: $20 maximum
4
Expenses Rat/Small Rodent Trap: $4.50 Marble(s): $2.50 Funnel: $1.50 Projectile Launcher: $1.00 Stamp: $.50 Wood base: $4.50
5
Project Overview Projectile is launched at an angle and collides with the marble forcing it to begin down the track. The marble then rolls down the track, through the funnel and down the second track. The marble then falls onto the trap release, which stamps the paper.

Energy Conversions Spring –Elastic Potential Energy and Gravitational Potential Energy to kinetic energy Projectile –Kinetic Energy and Gravitational Potential Energy which is conserved and transferred with Conservation of Momentum Marble –Gravitational and Kinetic Energy to just Kinetic Rat/Small Rodent Trap Spring
8
Conclusion The Crusher took 4 and a half hours to construct –Problems encountered: Splitting wood Energy Loss (Hard to account for) Mouse trap We feel that our design was a success We learned how coming together as a team can help to solve problems and bring in new ideas
