How much insurance should I buy? The minimum amount of auto insurance coverage that you need is determined by the state that you live in. Some state minimums are as low as 10/20/5. This is not nearly enough Recommended minimum amount: 50/100/25. *Amount insurance will cover for bodily injury to a group of people. *Amount insurance will cover for bodily injury to a single person. *Amount insurance will cover for property damage.

Causes of increasing insurance costs Cars today are more complicated. New car technology is more expensive to repair. Cars are more fuel-efficient and lighter than they used to be. Lighter cars= more damage. More lawsuits nowadays.

Whose insurance costs more? Ms. Young’s? or Sarah’s? ▫As you become a more experienced driver, your premium goes down. A married woman or a single man? ▫Women generally have better driving records than men. ▫Married people normally have fewer accidents than single people.
