2 Program Goals Deploy and test bike sharing Evaluate pilot results to determine successful conditions for region-wide deployment For short term use (not to replace rentals) – stand alone trips or connect to transit

5 Regional Program Overview 1,000 bicycles in 5 service areas 500 bikes in San Francisco 100 bikes in Redwood City 400 bikes in Mountain View/Palo Alto/San Jose Along Caltrain commute corridor 70% initial launch Pilot 12-24 months Launch in August 2013

6 Bike Share in Santa Clara County Phase 1: 280 bikes and 28 stations Stations located within 1-3 miles of Caltrain stations Priority areas: downtowns, city halls, major shopping centers, San Jose State University, Stanford University, and major employment areas Hub Station at Train Station Pod

7 Bike Sharing Site Selection San Jose State University San Jose 1a. MLK Library 4. Paseo de San Antonio 19 identified sites

8 Bike Sharing Site Selection San Jose State University Mountain View 1. Mt. View City Hall 5. San Antonio Shopping Center 11 identified sites
