3 www.eulis.eu EULIS service vision Vision for the EULIS service remains the same: ‘EULIS offers direct, easy, on-screen access to member land registers and reference information across Europe.’ The EULIS website provides information on the official contacts and web links for land registration in European countries – free to all EULIS is the first port of call for land and property information in Europe.

4 www.eulis.eu What does EULIS have? A live service! Experience in building a portal Experience of working across cultures/countries to produce something tangible! Strong online visibility, good brand awareness Knowledge of land registration as a public service & a business Expertise in the content of land registers Standardised structure for describing land registration concepts across borders Tools for spreading knowledge and understanding to users: –Reference information - local specialist knowledge –Glossary – terminology and semantic translation

Organisation in place Active participation EEIG ready to be launched Support from the Commission on two levels – DG Internal Market and DG Justice and Home Affairs Vehicle for: –Giving national land registries a profile on a European level –Encouraging best practice in operations and services Sound concept and foundation for development EULIS is a springboard for eGovernment initiatives

6 www.eulis.eu We recognise that Land Registries across Europe.... are operating in a difficult financial climate. are faced with a large and difficult change agenda. will be challenged to comply with the European e- Justice Portal.

7 www.eulis.eu We also recognise... cost of membership shouldn’t be a barrier to participate in EULIS. the EULIS technical solution must be modern and flexible in order to accommodate diversity in technology and information contents. resources are initially required to build reference information.

To build the community of official land registry organisations across all EU member states in order to facilitate their participation in and compliance with the European e-Justice programme. 2. To deliver the next generation EULIS platform, which is technologically and financially-viable and through which land registry organisations across Europe can provide cross-border services.

To identify and define a wide-ranging set of land information services and value-added products across Europe for delivery through the European e-Justice portal, which will benefit legal practitioners and professionals associated with the administration of justice in the area of civil law (including solicitors, judges, notaries, bailiffs and other stakeholders) and improve the functioning of the internal market. 4.
