Kony 2012 video2012 “An Internet video seeking to draw attention to fugitive African rebel leader Joseph Kony now stands as the fastest-growing viral phenomenon in Web history, thanks to informal celebrity advocates and young viewers.” Posted online on Monday the video had more than 80 million views by Friday afternoon. Why do you think this video has taken off so quickly?

Two main factors: Young people were drawn to the story. And celebrities and other public figures promoted the video through social-media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Video features toddler son of one of the filmmakers to narrate some of the story to make it more relatable to the younger demographic.
