Hue Another name for color!

Primary Colors The three basic colors of the color wheel.
Cannot be mixed, you must purchase/be given them. The three basic colors that all other colors come from. Red, blue, yellow

Secondary Colors Colors made by mixing two primary colors.
(2nd colors) Orange, green, purple

Tertiary Colors Colors made by mixing a primary and a secondary color.

Shade Color (hue) plus black

Value The lightness or darkness of a color
Ex- maroon is a dark value of red

Intensity or Saturation
or saturation is the brightness of a color or put another way, it's the force of the color

Color Temperature Warm and cool colors Warm colors Cool colors
The color circle can be divided into warm and cool colors. Warm colors are vivid and energetic, and tend to advance in space. Cool colors give an impression of calm, and create a soothing impression. White, black and gray are considered to be neutral.

Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel (example: red and green). More ideas= high contrast
