◦ Curling includes the physical concepts of distance, speed, and force. ◦ Distance is determined by how far the lead man pushes the stone to help out the wipers. ◦ Speed is applied by how far the stone goes in a given amount of time. ◦ Finally, force is applied by how the wipers are wiping for the stone.

◦ When the skaters spin in a circle it requires converting all of the linear momentum into angular momentum. ◦ The take-off angle, take-off velocity, and height of take-off are the three factors which determine the figure skater's trajectory during a jump. ◦ Torque involves both the force applied to an object and the distance from the rotation axis you apply the force, this determines the spin.
