Friday, April 14 th, 1865 7am to 2pm - Breakfast with family, met with cabinet, visitors, invited Grants to theater, met with Vice-President 2pm - lunch with Mrs. Lincoln 3pm to 8pm – met with former slave, various other individuals including a one-armed soldier, carriage ride 8pm – arrived Ford’s theater late, actors paused for playing of ‘Hail to the Chief’, the play American Cousin resumed
