2. José Guadalupe Posada

3. About Posada  Posada was a Mexican cartoonist illustrator and artist whose work has influenced many Latin American artists and cartoonists.  Posada came to the spotlight in 1900’s. Jose also taught himself how to draw when he was younger.

4. José’s Art  Posada's best known works are his calaveras. Some calaveras that he is known for are the Calavera de la Catrina, the "Calavera of the Female Dandy.”

5. José Posada  Posada's engravings were brought to a wider audience in the 1920s by the French artist Jean Charlot.  While Posada died in poverty, his images are well known today as examples of folk art.
