Tips for IGO Application  Ensure the money is received by Manulife Bank on or before the issue date indicated on application  Understand deposit options  Local Area Banking – best option  Mailed Application – new 5 day rate guarantee!  Registered Funds Transfer – 30 day rate guarantee  Review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 16

Local Area Banking – In Brief  Synonyms – LAB, NDDS, Royal Bank deposit slips  You can order slips for your advisor by completing and faxing an order form (delivered in 10-14 days)  LAB for GIC or registered products ≠ LAB for personal accounts  One deposit slip per application!  When funds are provided by local area deposit, advisors can fax the application and slip copy to us  Documentation & support materials to be provided. 17

When an application is Not In Good Order….  We will reject an application if:  Old applications are used  Required information is missing  Funds are received after the issue date on the application  If the application is NIGO, we will contact the advisor, asking that they confirm new investment details  A new interest rate may apply  The advisor must certify that the client was notified of the changes 18

Sample NIGO letter Note: Manulife Bank will send this letter twice and if still no response received from the advisor, a third letter will be sent advising that the application is being returned and the reason why. 19

BankLink 20  GIC Applications produced in BankLink will be NIGO until the applications in BankLink are updated  Approach to communication of this outage:  Message and links on impacted areas in BankLink “GIC applications are temporarily unavailable on BankLink. Please use a GIC paper application at this time.”  Brief notice on Repsource

Key messages to your advisors  Destroy old applications!  Make sure you complete applications in full  Make sure we receive funds on or before issue date  Recommend that the advisor keep key GIC disclosure points handy when working with clients  Do not use BankLink for GIC applications  No change for nominee name GIC procedures 21
